I so wanted to like this.... Shane Meadows and several of This is England cast in a tale of rebellion in impoverished 17th Century West Yorkshire.... but I only managed forty minutes before exiting.
Stilted, improvised dialogue, often in one take, causing visible confusion with other actors. Hokey bleakness, kept expecting Ripping Yarns Michael Palin to pop out, talking about shovel handles.
Got glowing reviews from the Guardian, must be me then.
