He tore defences apart at Forest, lightning quick with precise finishing. Scored that twisting header that gave us the first of two European cups.
The Internet has got it down that Francis Forest debut was against QPR or some other Division 1 team. It wasn't, he first put on a red shirt to play with the A team teenage trainees on a council park pitch. Whether this was Cloughie's idea to stretch Trevor's legs or to show him that even though he was the first £1m player, he was a squad member, who knows? An ankle injury blighted his career from the eighties onward but in his pomp he was one of the best ever.
RIP

RIP Trevor
Little known fact: he was Britain’s first million pound player. Weird how no one ever mentions it 🤠

Another little known fact, Trevor gets a mention in the Only Fools And Horses theme tune. Along with David Bowie LPs, the Trotter family is also dealing in Trevor Francis tracksuits.

CBW stayed with Forest through our very lean Championship and League One years. Great midfield engine room player.
