Seeing it's my birthday today and I'm becoming more of an old fool as each year passes I seem to keep thinking about the things I miss.
What do you miss that we don't get any more?
Here's a few of mine;
Original Irn Bru(today's recipe is like a diluted version-utter pish)
3 Channel's on the telly(most channel's today are complete rubbish, a classic case of 'less is more')
Local record shops(when every town and/or area had one).
The post came before 8am instead of 5 O'Clock.
The coal man coming every Friday.
These are just a few...what are yours?😀

First, happy birthday young un.
I miss the the video/dvd hire store. Not Blockbuster but the corner shop that would have a small section full of movies. Far better browsing physical objects than with an arrow button on Netflix. Sometimes you would end up with something crap but you'd stick with it after investing a walk to the shop and back.
Going to see Forest, midweek winter games under the floodlights, wrapped up for the cold. And then a couple of pints in the pub after.
Fish and chip shops open till midnight. Scarborough ones are all closed by nine.

Now there just too much, too much shite and not enough quality. A bit like music these days. The whole journey was part of the experience, like a chance encounter. Everything is at your fingertips now. Ordered and contained. Football too is too sanitised. Getting in for nothing at half time and climbing over the fence to get into away games for nothing. Controlled and sanitised. I really miss old fashioned Saturdays too. Punk at the local record shop, football, Saturday afternoon sessions in the pub up the road for your dinner then back out for more!👍

I think milk still gets delivered but I haven't seen a milkman for around 40 years. Yes it does But the floats are very speedy and a single milkman probably covers a huge geographical area given how few people use the service Back in the day virtually every house or flat would get a delivery - and the milkman was a familiar sight

...Ordered and contained... ...Controlled and sanitised. In a nutshell. There was less technology and more freedom when we were growing up. Have a good 'un Roguey

Thing is theres only about another 50 people there. Still, you can still have a couple of beers and have a hip flask and no one cares😎 Also GBH played Glasgow about 18 months ago and it was the first time I had seen them since 1982 and was throwing myself around to their set. Next day, it was as if I was in traction and had to quell my post gig raging thirst through a straw. Was worth it though😀
