High cuisine in the seventies. My parents would go away on holiday and leave me with half a dozen of them and the Chinese chow mein one.

Used to open with a twisty key at the bottom of the paper thin tin can, leaving razor sharp edges. I'd crumble a few slices up and mix it with baked beans. Heaven then, now.

And what are those white bits? Bone, gristle, fat? Revolting whatever it is The Argentinians in the factory must have chuckled at the thought of anyone eating it

It's solidified fat. The meat was heated to remove bacteria before being canned, the fat would then change from a liquid to a solid over time in the tin. YUM!

I was Googling Ski yogurt recently don't think it's still made. Also CO-OP's Coffee with Chicory which to this day is the only coffee I've ever liked. tv24.co.uk/b/rzi280-134t

Yum indeed PU Ski yogurt Stu - I'm surprised it's no longer produced, it was the numero uno yogurt brand at one time. Guess Muller came and mullered it I sometimes drink Chicory - this stuff... www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/whole-earth-organic-no-caffeine-60099255/I don't drink caffeine after midday, actually I hardly drink it at all now, and the Whole Earth Organic No Caffeine Coffee is similar enough that you get a coffee-ish flavour and no chemical stimulation

Seems Ski yogurt is still produced.
It was scrumptious. Bet it's not as good as it was.

There's a whole book on this theme set in Australia:
The Land Before Avocado: Journeys In A Lost Australia by Richard Glover. It's great.
I remember the first time I ate avocado. It was advertised as a starter at a restaurant: avocado vinaigrette. Half an avocado with oil and vinegar and salt and pepper. Me and a female friend decided to try it. We though we were real posh. Our friends thought we were mad. That was end 70s or early 80s
