Never heard of Shout Factory but supremely enjoyable clip of Uncontrollable Urge... Uncontrollable UrgeFriends of mine had a band called The Uncontrollable Urges. I can't remember if they played the song, but I imagine they did

...it's on Saturday Aug 19th, so you've still got time to get a ticket Billy Have you got yours Andy? In other Devo chat... 'Oh No! It's Devo' is often not considered on of their better albums What do you think? Pretty damn good is my assessment - not Freedom of Choice, Duty Now, Q: Are We Not Men? good - but better than many will tell you, see also New Traditionalists

i Went to DEVO's sold out show at the Hammersmith Apollo last night. Spuds travelled from all points of the compass for this special event. Generally, i don't really like 'big events' but still glad i went to this, despite being stuck behind the perennial problem for me, of shows like this... TALL people that somehow track me down and insist on standing in front of me with their annoying airhead friends. Great night though. Despite being old enough now to draw a pension and use a bus pass, DEVO were in sprightly form. They played a generous smattering of songs from the first four albums... plus a couple of newer songs (e.g. Don't Shoot, I'm A Man)

Thanks Andy
Seen a few clips online and, as you say, the group seem on fine form despite their ages

ART DEVO 1973 - 1977 COMPILATION Released last year, this a treasure trove of archive DEVO recordings dating all the way back to their Kent Kove lo-fi live sets from humble beginnings. They faced alot of animosity back then from audiences weened on Led Zeppelin, The Eagles and Ted Nugent... DEVO were the polar opposite and had more in common with Captain Beefheart, who was a big influence. ART DEVO 1973 - 1977 is a handy companion to their Hardcore Devo/Recombo DNA releases. A friend descibes DEVO as the Nostradamus of the modern age. In my youth, i didn't understand what De-Evoluion was/is... NOW I DO!!
