I know it’s a made up band for a film…but how have I not known about this until yesterday? I pride myself in knowing shit about punk but this has totally missed me for 40 odd years.
And to be fair it’s pretty good.

...where've you been, Grandad? Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains was for a long time buried and hardly anyone ever saw it at the time. Steve Jones was grappling with a heroin addiction during the filming, but Ray Winstone is pretty impressive as the singer for The Looters. All their recordings from the film are included on the Professionals Box Set.

I know nothing about this film, but how come everybody in the audience looks so un-punk-like? I used to see audiences like this at pub gigs in the suburbs where I grew up, but there would always still be a few punters with a bit of a punk aesthetic
