Along with Alexis Korner he was a founding father of blues rock. He seemed like he was never bothered about hit records or awards but did it just for the love of music. RIP

I saw him do a thumping good set at a Blues and Roots festival when he was in his eighties, what an influential guy he was, the music world owes him so much.
