I've only got one of these four albums. The second one. It has a few decent tracks like Naked's Pre War Germany.
Anyone got all four ? Thoughts ?

The music was mostly dire, the lyrical content mostly naive, but a noble idea nonetheless, providing obscure local bands with their first (and usually only) taste of vinyl exposure.
This is the only tune I recall liking of the ones I heard.

The Amebix went onto become world famous as a cult band, in the genre of 'Crust Punk' which was birthed in the squats of Bristol in the early 80's. Saw them a couple of times and took some photos of them, i have never published.
Unlike Disorder and Chaos UK, they had/have a chugging mid tempo, heavy rock sound...

Crust punk - a close relation to anarcho, or so it seems to me
There's was a time when crusties seemed to be everywhere usually with a dog on a piece of string - they also had close ties with the traveller communities
By the by Andy, is it Amebix or The Amebix?

^ In before Andy... no 'the' as far as I recall.
Along with The Mob and Flux of Pink Indians they were the cream of the crop of that type of music, which isn't saying much.

Beginning sounds a lot like Moving Away from the Pulsebeat.

...or Autonomy Yup, it's Amebix, not The Amebix.
Jello Biafra is a fan. Their second album was released on Alternative Tenticles as well as a compilation of their early Spiderleg recordings
