Johnson claims Covid crisis would have been 'disaster' for Scotland if it had been independent
Not sure that kind of statement is gonna stem the tide in favour of independence - almost the kind of thing he might have said for a bet
At least when Cameron packed his bags and headed down to Scotland in 2014 he had a serious set of constitutional changes in his back pocket which devolved further powers to the Scottish Parliament
It does beg the questions (assuming you think the continuation of the Union is a good thing), what's the serious answer to Scottish discontent with the Union as it currently operates? How is Boris Johnson's government going to change to meet the challenge of Scottish independence?
The sort of questions Johnson seems spectacularly ill equipped to answer

It's only a matter of time.
Sturgeon is a much better leader that that balloon Johnston and that even bigger fool Starmer.
Her popularity is soaring due to her exemplary handling of the Covid pandemic.
A lot of people in England are completely ignorant of the dynamic behind the independence movement.
They're only interested in promoting their pro Brexit racist, right wing agenda and can't rationalise anything other than that.
The future of Scotland lies in the hands of the people who live here-no one else.👍

There's plenty of English people who recognise why Scots what independence and who actively support it

You could have fooled me.🙄
Look at the last independence campaign.
The Guardian published a list of mostly English'celebrities'who were against Independence.
200 to be exact.
An Independence referendum has nothing to do with the English people.
It has to be a democratic decision by the people who live in Scotland.

Most people either don't care or support independence Vast majority probably never give Scotland a second thought I'm all for it! The English celebrities who got involved last time were just sucking up - probably hoping for an OBE or whatever As you say, it has a sense of inevitability now, though daresay Johnson and co will drag their heels. Keep up the pressure Rogue, it's coming.

Independence would be good for the other countries in the British Isles too.
That photo is a strange one. There are pro Independence supporters within the Hun support but you can count them in their hundreds.
They are despised by the majority of the Rangers support as they're viewed as 'anti-British'
The ones I've met are completely anti Irish, what does that say about them?

English people are very much entitled to an opinion on Scottish independence, largely because it would almost certainly condemn England to permanent Conservative rule.
Having an opinion on the matter isn't the same as either voting on the issue or trying to influence the outcome. The English have no right to do either.
If I were a Scot, I'd certainly support independence and I'd probably vote SNP. Sturgeon is a formidable leader who appears to be on top of everything in her brief. The comparison with Johnson is stark and very uncomfortable for any Tory, either Scottish or English.

That ship has already sailed Bassy as not only has right wing conservatism become entrenched within the English working class it's becoming even more extreme.
The only chance that England has of ever regaining a sense of progressive radicalness is if they have their own parliament and ditch the Labour Party.
Scotland is a country and isn't here to 'make up the numbers'so that England can get a Labour government.
Scottish Labour still think like this which is why they've went the way of the dodo.

No, you're ok mate, I knew that. Was just pointing out that for the Labour Party that's their default position.

NO! to Scottish Independence.
Not until I've got my affairs sorted out here in Scarborough and then open a shop in either Nairn or Inverness.
Watch out Jockos, I'm coming for your money.

You think of opening a shop in the Highlands PU?
Inverness is a good sized wee town and a good base to explore the Highlands.
Been a couple of times.
Even had a wee look at Boleskine House when we went on Loch Ness.
Problem is the locals....they would eat anyone fatter than Charles Hawtry😀

My ambition is to semi retire somewhere up on the north east coast of Scotland. Scoped out that area a few times, love Nairn but maybe not big enough for a viable business. Depending on the covid situation, I will be hitching up a caravan round Easter 2021 and having a good look at what retail properties are on the market.
