My ambition is to semi retire somewhere up on the north east coast of Scotland. Scoped out that area a few times, love Nairn but maybe not big enough for a viable business. Depending on the covid situation, I will be hitching up a caravan round Easter 2021 and having a good look at what retail properties are on the market. A very nice plan, PU, and a very nice location, too. Mrs Bassy & I have been on holiday to Embo a couple of times, which is on the coast just north of Inverness. If it weren't for the grim realities of my life as it currently stands, I could easily imagine settling in that area. Mrs Bassy prefers the "shortbread tin" vistas of Perthshire (especially Tummel Valley) but I suspect that she could be persuaded to my point of view.

Scotland is a country and isn't here to 'make up the numbers'so that England can get a Labour government. Don't let the door hit you on the way out... then we can spend that Barnett Formula money on something useful.

Judging by Facebook he still has plenty of apologists. Despite the alleged violence against women and black people and support for DT. He has literally become Steptoe, without the charm.

Anyone who goes to live in another country and stays away for years and yet still feels qualified to comment on the UK is invariably wide of the mark
Lydon is an embarrasment - he hasn't got a clue

Aye the people who apologise for him have got severe mental health problems, they're either on the neo right or the reality of what this balloon is now upsets their precious teenage memories. I'd say fuck off to the former and grow up to the latter and thats putting it mildly.

Like Farage and Johnston they yearn for a Britain that was before their time and didn't exist.

Boris Johnson visits Scotland today as part of an urgent mission to "save the union" ahead of the Scottish parliamentary elections and polls indicating a consistent lead for Scottish independence
The very definition of futile and counterproductive

Johnson isn't stupid he knows Labour are finished and will want to build the unionist vote for negotiations around the Tory party if theres a yes vote.
He'll also be telling Sturgeon that having a referendum regardless of it been 'allowed' by Westminster will have consequences.
I have problems with some aspects with the SNP's handling of the pandemic and I also think Sturgeon thinks the SNP is in an unassailable position but she might find out the hard way that the British government aren't just going to hand independence to Scotland in a plate.
We shall see.

A very ill advised comment
Better to acknowledge the sentiment and sell the benefits of staying together
