So who is the best old school punk group still playing live?
To go and see as a live experience in 2024, that is
I don't know if the non-Johnny fronted Pistols count but they would be contenders according to some
The artists that spring to my mind are....
999
The Damned
Skids

Hardly any of them in my opinion. All well past their sell by dates, tired and dated. Maybe TV Smith still has something to say?
I'm only interested in the younger bands who are keeping the flame alive (though taking it in new directions), Martha, Ming City Rockers, Lovely Eggs....

I'm sort of the same but every now and again a bit of nostalgia is just the ticket
Gotta say Skids are still pretty flipping energetic and life reaffirming but it's mainly the old tunes that really hit the spot
Have you seen The Bug Club PU? Check em out. Given your examples above I reckon you'd love them

999 are always wonderful.
Any votes for Sham?

Not seen Sham for about 15 years. They were pretty good but not sure I'd rush back if they come to town
Will probably go see Penetration who are due to play soon. Saw them about 2010 and enjoyed em.
The Rezillos are still very enjoyable as are The Undertones even minus Feargal

Seeing them next month with Essential Logic.

Why anyone would waste time and money watching old people shouting is beyond me, but to each their own.

As long as an old band is moving forward with new material, that's fine with me. Something that 999, the Skids, The Damned and the Stranglers do... and the creativity is still there.
I assume the Pursey fronted version of Sham just play 'The Hits'?
