QPR are on fire at the moment Smog and have got a hell of a team. Gonna be there or there abouts. As are Boro I'd imagine. Don't be downhearted my friend And, look on the bright side.... .....you could be a Forest fan!

Yes, abject start to the season for The Trees. Sorry state of affairs when cashed strapped Derby are mid table.

In the players minds it's a pro-equality/anti racism gesture - so anyone booing is explicitly expressing their displeasure with that stance More generally I think it is time to stop it It is only a gesture and does nothing to get to the heart of what causes racism and inequality At Burnley v Albion a minority of Burnley fans booed the knee. The Brighton fans sang "He's feeling your kids, he's feeding your kids, Marcus Rashford, he's feeding your kids" Which made me laugh It may have been a unified gesture at first and a good thing but it's become very chaotic. Sky or EPL clubs supposedly enhancing cheering or playing stuff over tannoy in attempts to drown out booing to protect the brand image. Clubs where one or two players are supposedly controlling what the whole team does and them going along out of fear of being called racist, I just think that both sides walking out together behind a "kick it out" banner shows unity against racism and I doubt there would be a single voice of dissent in the crowd. Also we should be proud of how far we've come. I like others here went to football through the 70's when it really was nasty and although there should be (and is) zero tolerance for racism some folk seem sad the battle is pretty much won and they have no real causes to fight against. The few racist twats should be ignored, they don't deserve the oxygen of publicity they feed off through all the furore that comes with this. As an aside , next time Lewis Hamilton wants to show how right on he is he could also show his contempt for the torture of Shia Muslims in Bahrain next time there is a Grand Prix there, but somehow I think his outrage of people's mistreatment may not stretch that far.

We only have two points but had a very tough start so am not too worried, I foresee another mid table season.

I can see them pushing for the play offs but probably finishing 7th or 8th We have the same problem we have every year, great solid defence (usually in the top 3 for clean sheets) but can't score anywhere near enough goals to be truly competitive. (bottom 6 for goals scored). We have Benik Afobe on loan from Stoke for the season, hopefully he can make a difference. Matt Smith is probably our most consistent score and my preferred option but the manager doesn't want to play the kind of football that suits a big central man and our strikers aren't good enough for the tricksy passing game he wants to play. Catch 22. With a budget in the bottom 5 in the division, then mid table is actually a great success every year.

Chris Hughton would have gone today if we had lost to Derby but he's still on thin ice and I expect the taxi will be booked very soon.

With Chris Wilder out of work it must surely be when not if Lots of Forest fans clamouring for him, can't see the attraction myself. Upshot is we are a badly run club, any player who shows promise, Cash, Darlow, Lazelles is sold quickly and there is never a settled team throughout the seasons. Forest are not in debt and regularly have crowds of 24,000, where is the money going?

All good questions PU There are more questions than answers, eh Wilder got two promotions in three years with Sheff Utd and then guided them to a 9th place finish in the Prem - all with no money. It may have unravelled last season but you can't argue with that track record - then again, and as you suggest, it seems the problems at Forest run deeper given the rate you get through managers Interesting how Mark Warburton is now flourishing at QPR having been given a bit of time to build

Upshot is we are a badly run club, any player who shows promise, Cash, Darlow, Lazelles is sold quickly and there is never a settled team throughout the seasons. Forest are not in debt and regularly have crowds of 24,000, where is the money going? Not sure the money is going anywhere wrong, just the price of playing/competing in the Championship which is a money pit. Forest's wage bill is around the 38 million a year mark which is apparently a ridiculous 148% of turnover. We at Millwall have half your crowd but a wage bill around 15 million (reportedly) and we are still losing about 8 million a year and having to sell any decent talent. Too many clubs in the Championship consider themselves "big clubs" with a right to be in the EPL but the reality is that parachute payments and unrealistic demands by fans/managers mean that clubs are no longer acting in a sustainable way. Fans want their clubs to be run well, but often, were they to be run in a way that guaranteed their longevity then they would be in a lower division. Only way to gain success in this division is to have a manager capable of cultivating an us and them team spirit, a strong defence and hope to find a young striker from the lower leagues who will get you 20+ goals a year for little outlay which is a minor miracle in itself. Otherwise it's a case of aiming for mid table obscurity and celebrating when you hit the 50 point mark another year doing the same old shit.
