Wonderful drama in the Championship Feel v sorry for Rotherham, and Wycombe Congratulations Derby Talk of a legal challenge as Derby are still waiting on a potential points deduction after the EFL won its appeal to find the club in breach of Financial Fair Play rules

Predict the play-offs - who do you think will emerge triumphant in the play offs? CHAMPIONSHIP Barnsley v Swansea City The last time Barnsley beat Swansea was 17 matches ago in November 1983. Billy Joel was Number 1 with ‘Uptown Girl’ while Bryan Robson scored twice for England in a 4-0 win in Luxembourg. A pair of 2-0 Swansea victories this season don’t augur well for the Tykes either, but this is a Barnsley side which cares little for reputations or records. Valerien Ismael’s side have won 13 of their past 19 games. Steve Cooper’s men may be in poorer form, but having lost in the semi-finals last season, they will be determined to go at least one stage further. AFC Bournemouth v Brentford Trepidation time arrives for Brentford supporters given the fact that their team has never emerged victorious from the EFL Play-Offs in nine previous attempts. No club in the Sky Bet EFL has a worse record, but at least Thomas Frank’s side has recent experience from which to learn, having reached the delayed 2020 final. They can also gain confidence from completing the league double over Bournemouth this season. Meanwhile, the Cherries will hope to take a first leg lead by rekindling the fire that inspired a springtime seven-game winning run in which they scored 21 goals.
LEAGUE ONE Lincoln City v Sunderland AFC
Historically, the Play-Offs have not been kind to either of these sides. Between them, they have made 11 appearances, reached just five finals and won not a single one. Don’t let that fool you into thinking they struggle with knockout football, however. Lincoln lifted the EFL Trophy at Wembley in 2018 and Sunderland followed them this season, having beaten Lincoln on penalties in the semi-finals following a 1-1 draw. This tie promises to be just as tight, so can either team eke out a precious first leg advantage at Sincil Bank?
Oxford United v Blackpool
Having vaulted into the Play-Offs on the final day of the regular season, Oxford United will carry with them the momentum that is considered so precious at this time of year. They will need all of it. Last season’s trip to Wembley was their first experience of the end-of-season jamboree. By contrast, Blackpool have history on their side. In eight Play-Off appearances, they have made it to Wembley seven times and won five of those finals, the outright record. Tangerines boss Neil Critchley knows the past counts for nothing, though
LEAGUE TWO Newport County v Forest Green Rovers
Happy travels, anyone? Newport and Forest Green have only met seven times before in the Sky Bet EFL, but not once has the home side managed to win. The 49-mile journey between their grounds could be one factor, while both sides have been renowned for their counter-attacking play. It points to a tie that will not be decided until the second leg in the Cotswolds. Both sides will be familiar with Wembley should they make it. In the past ten seasons, Forest Green have played there twice, Newport on four occasions.
Tranmere Rovers v Morecambe
Could replacing manager Keith Hill with Ian Dawes on the eve of the Play-Offs be the stroke of genius that inspires Tranmere to repeat their success of two seasons ago? Dawes will look to fit-again veteran striker James Vaughan to inspire an attack that has found the net just four times in its past nine games. Morecambe, on the other hand, have scored 15 goals in six games and are playing with a freedom the reflects their status as surprise contenders. In their previous five seasons, Morecambe finished no higher than 18th in Sky Bet League Two.

Didn't realise the EFL season had ended.
Hopefully Brentford will make it this time, the other three have already had spells in the Premier League of course.

V happy for Bees
They really deserve it for their model of steady progression, nurturing young talent and staying solvent by selling on the players they develop
74 years since Bees were in the top flight
Can't wait to see how they get on next season
Remember saying to a pal that Albion should sign Toney last Summer. If only....

Bees will face some tough games next season, finishing 17th will be a success.
Hopefully the Imps can make the Championship tomorrow, Blackpool will be quite a test though.

I'm hoping for an Imps victory too That said, Blackpool fans have had to endure so much pain of late that I wouldn't begrudge them something to cheer either. The Oystons were the owners from hell. I predict a Blackpool victory (see above)

Joey Barton charged with assault - in court on Monday...Former footballer Joey Barton has been charged with assault by beating after a woman suffered a head injury at a residential address in London.
Barton, who is currently manager of League Two club Bristol Rovers, will appear at Wimbledon magistrates court on Monday. It follows an incident at a house in Kew, south-west London, on 2 June.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan police confirmed the court appearance: “Joseph Barton, 38, of Widnes, is due to appear on bail on Monday 26 July at Wimbledon magistrates court charged with assault by beating.
“The charge relates to an incident which took place at a residential property in Kew on Wednesday 2 June in which a woman received a head injury.”

He's still got that assault charge against Daniel Stendel hanging over him. That latest trial date is now 26 November 2021, with Joey Barton on unconditional bail until then. That new date court date will be 31 months after the alleged assault took place.
I'd guess that if Joey Barton is found guilty in either case then his future in football management will be in doubt.

Derby County....
Having narrowly escaped relegation from the Champ last season are Derby County going down in 2021-22? Their pre-season is not going too well
Wayne Rooney has apologised to his family and Derby County over images which emerged from a drunken night out.
Doubts were raised over the Manchester United and England legend’s future with the Rams after The Sun disclosed images of him in a hotel room with three women.
Rooney will remain as manager of the Championship side and expressed his gratitude after a 1-0 pre-season victory over Real Betis on Wednesday night.
It has been a difficult few days for Rooney, who also sidelined Derby defender Jason Knight for 12 weeks with a tackle in training.
Meanwhile, the Rams have just nine senior players registered for the new season – two goalkeepers and Knight included – as they battle an EFL transfer embargo.
