What's your view on Rancid?
I don't know much about them but I love a few of their tunes
For example...
Roots Radicals Ruby Soho Time Bomb
A very strong Clash influence, which always helps
Roots Radicals
(See also Operation Ivy)

God knows I've given 'em a go enough times but, apart from Time Bomb, nothing sticks in the memory.

Me too just don't see the appeal.
Plus Tim Armstrong is an utter fud.
Donating cash to the cops so they can buy PPE during the pandemic.
Punk rock or what?

I saw them on their first two tours of the UK, back in the early 90s, before they got really big "...And Out Come The Wolves" is probably still their best known album. The last album i heard was 17 years ago, so i am somewhat out of the flow of what they have released since.
Matt Freeman is an amazing bass player, i will give them that... but yeah, some of their 'Clash-isms' in the past have been pretty blatant and Lars Frederiksen seems to trying to pass himself off as a British Skinhead of late

Fredrickson is a Walter Mitty character jumping around with people who consort with known fascists and trying to pass himself off as a Millwill fan.
You just cannot take this fraud seriously.

I had no idea they were so contentious
I just like the ska/rock danceabily of "...And Out Come The Wolves" with its anthemic tunes

Looks like i’m in a minority on this one.I love a bit of Rancid.Got a few of their albums. They were one of the bands that got me back into punk, alongside bands like Dropkick Murphys. And I agree Matt Freeman is one hell of a bass player.

Maybe, its only music for some but Fredrickson is at best a fool.
His adulation of Roi Pearce is a bit of an right eye opener.
It doesn't matter to Lars though silly(mega rich) fantasist that he is.
Him and that idiot Fat Mike

Sometimes it's good not to know about the unsavoury aspects of music makers
Kennyhel on the old forum was in a side project with Lars (Lars and the Bastards?). Kenny was a nice guy. V passionate.
