160m would be insanity but then City do have unlimited cash (FFP notwithstanding)

Brighton and Hove Albion playing a friendly against Rangers at Ibrox at 5:30 pm
It's Rangers final warm up game and Albion's first
Hard to imagine who will be plaing for the Albion as not all the players have reported for pre-season yet
Still, only 3 weeks til the Prem is back nad 2 weeks until the EFL is back
Already feeling excited

City buying Grealish means the end of any deal for Killer Kane is what I've been reading.
Unless a swap deal is done presumably.

City will pay 100mill but Levy is asking for the ridiculous 160 million according to reports. Sounds like Kane understood he could leave which is why the no show but the amount is just haggling. It will go through in the end. Especially with United's good work in the market this window, City will wan't to lay a real marker down and will see Kane's goals as the way to get the Champion's League.

I really hope they don't pay more than £100m.
He's good but not that good. I'm sure they could get someone younger and as good for much less.
No doubt Levy won't want Kane to play in the opening fixture if he does join City.

City were already going to win the league at a canter
I don't really understand what Grealish and Kane add except making the points differential greater still
Ridiculous how Chelsea and City have completely distorted the league with their bottomless pockets
In a way I wish UEFA had made that FFP charge stick, at least it would have levelled things up a bit. As it is no one else is getting a look in
I quite like City as a club and don't mind them being so dominant but it does get a bit flipping boring. Back in the pre PL days the range of teams that won the title was impressive. Now it's just so predictable
The top four will look like this at the end of the season
1. Man City 2. Chelsea 3. Man Utd 4. Liverpool
If there's not a good 10 points between 1st and 2nd I'll be amazed.

^^^^You'll get no arguments from me about modern football , it's a vile state of affairs and has sold its soul completely. I might start supporting Leeds as a tribute to Luke Haines and David Peace.

Police have arrested 11 people as they continue a hate crimes investigation into social media messages sent after the Euro 2020 final.
Those arrested include three people from London, two from Christchurch, Dorset, one from Runcorn, Cheshire, one from Sale, Greater Manchester, one from Folkestone, Kent, one from Reading, one from Shrewsbury and one from Worcester. Bukayo Saka, the 19-year-old Arsenal forward who took England's final penalty, said he was "speechless" after his club presented him with a wall of supportive messages.
"How do I even say thank you for all of this?" he asked.
In one, a young fan invited Saka to play football with him in the park and promised to "let him win"....

Okay it's got worse but the big clubs have always used purchase power to steal top players from poorer sides. My side Millwall used to rely on 1 or more good players from the youth system being stolen to keep us afloat, and in turn we would shaft a club a few divisions below us and they in turn would do the same with any promising non league players. The big shift is that a club like Manchester City is spending far more on scouting networks in South London than we can and so the youth talent we used to rely on are now in an academy up North by the time they are 12 with education and everything all paid for and parents nicely bribed, all chasing the dream that works for the 1% who make it whilst the rest are spat out at 16 with no future. There is very little point in non Premiership clubs having academy status. the 3 or so million it costs a year is wasted as if you get anyone decent they are stolen from you and the compensation is so negligible. The big clubs will not be happy until they are allowed either their reserves to play in a lower division ( the EFL Trophy already has 16 category 1 academies taking part although they keep it quiet ) or to take over and establish "feeder" sides lower down the leagues. what they have will never be enough.

It has become as Darwinist and soulless as the rest of society.
But hey that's progress.
