It has become as Darwinist and soulless as the rest of society. But hey that's progress. Social Darwinism. And the public gets what the public wants But I want nothing this society's got I'm going non-league (going non-league)

It's official...
Jack Grealish: Man City sign England midfielder from Aston Villa for £100m
Manchester City have signed England midfielder Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for a British record £100m.
The 25-year-old joins the Premier League champions on six-year contract and will wear the number 10 shirt recently vacated by Sergio Aguero.
The fee surpasses the £89m Manchester United paid to re-sign midfielder Paul Pogba from Juventus in 2016.

Not an obvious Pep signing but a magnificent player even if he goes down if he feels a gust of wind on his calves

Anyone seen Take Us Home, the Leeds United documentary on Amazon?
They use Gang of Four's Damaged Goods as theme song but it sounds like a ropey re-recorded version.

Could it be the Return The Gift version? GO4 reworked a lot of their classics. I like a lot of the reworked versions. Much beefier sounding.

Romance is dead Not many one club players these days - especially those that are any good Looks like BHAFC's Lewis Dunk will spend his career at Albion. Amazing really because he's a brilliant defender. Deserves more than his one solitary England cap.

Manchester City are ready to pay €150m (£127m) for Harry Kane if they get an indication from Tottenham that a deal can be done. Spurs have insisted Kane is not for sale despite the striker’s desire to leave for City and they have turned down a £100m offer from the Premier League champions. It is thought £150m could tempt Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, to sell but the bid being readied by City falls short of that. City are not giving up and are waiting to see how the situation unfolds. Kane will return to group training with Tottenham on Friday provided his Covid test on Thursday is negative. www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/12/manchester-city-ready-to-pay-150m-to-sign-harry-kane-from-tottenham

Watford Burnley Crystal Palace * If City sign Kane or some other similar proven goalscorer then I'd switch Chelsea and Man City So many unknown variables Definitely think Man Utd have a title winning squad but don't think OGS is a good enough manager to get the best out of them Chelsea look all set Man City must still be favourites but without a guaranteed 20 goals a season striker might just fall short to Lukaku-fuelled Chelsea Liverpool with Van Dyke back will be right up there

That top four will be the top four. Man City or Chelsea I would reckon. Maybe Man United dropping down to 5th with Leicester sneaking in but probably not. Watford and Brentford will probably struggle, Norwich might be better prepared this time.

1 Manchester City 2 Chelsea 3 Manchester United 4 Liverpool
18 Brentford 19 Southampton 20 Watford
The transfer window’s still open though,so a couple of decent signings could make a big difference.
