Does anyone watch this? I thoroughly enjoyed watching.... Chelsea v Arsenal ...a nil nil draw from from September 1974 yesterday The sun was shining and Stamford Bridge was looking resplendent in the September sunshine www.itv.com/hub/the-big-match-revisited/1a6464a0060Charlie George has his dodgy perm. Jimmy Rimmer in goal for the Gunners. Charlie Cooke and Ron Harris playing for Chelsea. Weirdly not one single shot of either manager, or the bench, it was all about the players Another weird thing a small group of Chelsea fans sung You'll Never Walk Alone at one point, before chanting "Chelsea-Chelsea-Chelsea...". All v confusing.
Brian Moore mentioned the new stand at Chelsea and how the capacity was now 35,000 and it was not uncommon for Chelsea to take Ā£30,000 from entrance on match days. Simpler (and cheaper) times eh?
The game was fun with a few near goals. Liam Brady looking imperious and Brian Kidd up front for Arsenal with John Radford. Ray Kennedy had gone to Liverpool in the Summer.
The 74-75 season was pretty inauspicious for both teams. Chelsea were relegated and Arsenal finished 16th. The top London club were QPR in 11th.
Derby County won the league... ![](https://www.oldfootballprogrammes.co.uk/graphics/IMG_3926.JPG)

Yes I watched it. Good to see Davie Hay the future Celtic manager as a player again.
Football and life was so much easier and simpler.
Good bit of nostalgiaš

I remember the episode featuring a Chelsea home game in 1977 where there was a pitch invasion and the then boss Eddie McCreadie took to the loud speaker to beg the fans to behave, wearing shades and a big gangster type coat. May have been the same game where a Chelsea fan tried to attack an opposing player cos he had just made a pretty hard tackle. And with it being Chelsea in 1977 we know what was going on a mere stone's throw away.

I see they've got a new highlights show called Match Time Revisited. 81/82 season. www.itv.com/hub/match-time-revisited/10a2251Just watching episode one and there are a couple of foreign players on the Birmingham team I don't remember at all. The Everton team they're playing (Kendall's first game in charge) is full of journeymen and players I'd forgotten.

Everyone remembers Argentinians Ardilles and Villa but the first of that 78 World Cup winning squad to come here was Alberto Tarantini who managed half a season for Birmingham. Buenos Aires to Small Heath must have been a real culture shock.

Yeah, lots of ex Millwall went down the road to Charlton back then. Players tended to stick geographically in those days, Orient was another favoured destination or Brighton if the players were a bit la di da. Then they all ended up at Dartford when the League days were behind them and they were putting off taking the Knowledge.

Bristol Rovers v Ipswich, 1978 FA Cup on a snow blanket of a pitch. Ipswich wearing a third (orange) shirt.
