I don't know much about Crisis and only discovered them after the fact
This tune is one that always gets under my skin...
Crisis UK79
I got hold of the Holocaust Hymns comp LP after a discussion on the old forum
Any fans in the house?
What's yer verdict?
According to a post under that video on YouTube...
Crisis started out in late 70s UK with the rise of the punk movement. They were at the forefront of the political take on punk. Their songs were about the state of the country, the government and anti-Nazism. 1980 the decision was taken to dissolve Crisis. Douglas Pearce and Tony Wakeford then went on to form Death In June in 1981. Drummer Luke Rendall joined Theatre of Hate and lead guitarist Lester Jones formed Carcrash International

Good band... PC 1984 was another strong tune by them.
They were quite radical left wing, and some of us were a bit perplexed by their later incarnation, Death in June, flirting with nazi imagery.
IIRC Death in June included a couple of guys I knew from the Basingstoke area who were previously in a band called the Runners From 1984

Yes, I recall their later incarnation came up at the old place Does indeed seem a bit weird Their various changes over the years is quite something... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_in_June

CRISIS are active again. They released a cracking comeback single " The Hammer And The Anvil" last year. The early singles were great, but my favourite era is when Luke Rendall joined them on drums and they released their debut mini album " Hymns Of Faith"

The "Hymns Of Faith" songs are also on the Holocaust Hymns comp - and, as you say, they're great

...Luke Rendall's drumming is unmistakable, here. Kirk Brandon must have poached him for Theatre Of Hate after hearing this...

I always preferred Crisis to the Clash but Red Saunders who was the head honcho of RAR claims that they were imposters.

Maybe there is already a thread dedicated to this band... but i've not seen it. I think they have been mentioned. They reformed recently with a new line up and have released a 7" and 12" both rather good...

Think Tony Wakeford has put Sol Invictus on hold and fired up the Crisis brand again. Doug P. has no involvement though.
