Tory councillor in Worthing suspended over alleged support of far right... That was the council I served on. No idea who Tim Wills is, though.

He’s hardly a secret supporter of a fascist organisation when he’s openly a councillor for them lol!

Yes - blame anyone but the people with their hands on the levers of power and the party that has been in Government for 12 years Unsurprisingly the speech was an incoherent mess lacking substance www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/oct/06/boris-johnson-tory-party-conference-speech-panel-verdictThat such a fundamentally frivolous individual has got anywhere near power shows how far Britain's political class has fallen Meanwhile, here in the real world, supermarket shelves are full of empty spaces, fuel is in short supply, and gas and electricity costs are soaring Surely even his biggest fans are going to cotton on that he and his party haven't got a clue Unbelievable His 'lefty' bashing was hilarious. As if Labour was ever a left wing party. I bet the so call 'Red Wall' lapped it up. 🤣

Well, at least he didn't threaten to throw acid in someone's face, like Labour MP Claudia Webbe.

Any misconduct by MPs should be dealt with in an appropriate manner. No wonder so many people are disillusioned with the political classes
There are so many examples in the last few years
Where are the standards in public life?

This whole Owen Paterson thing is genuinely shocking The bloke is banged to rights Despite a significant Tory rebellion in the face of a three-line whip, the amendment passed by 250 votes to 232, after a highly charged debate in the House of Commons. No suprise Scandalous

Well, at least he didn't threaten to throw acid in someone's face, like Labour MP Claudia Webbe. I honestly think him using his dead wife’s corpse as a meat shield for criticism is more fucked up than CW threatening that person, I can at least understand wanting to do one of those things lol!

Some are calling this a unbelievable low in British politics and Parliamentary democracy. However, with an ineffectual opposition with no chance of being elected, things can go even lower. Even though the vote was close those 'soft' Tories will never turn on their own masters.

Even though the vote was close those 'soft' Tories will never turn on their own masters. Exactly. A disgusting bunch of immoral low lives It's all part of a trend from Boris Johnson's government of sweeping away the checks and balances - be it international treaties, human rights law, parliament, or the standards committee. Will it make any difference to the average voter? Doubt it People will only wake up when it's too late At least there's been an outcry following the vote, and huge disquiet among many Conservative MPs But as you say, when push comes to shove they'll suck it up Makes me sick
