Isn't Liam's new single called 'Moscow Rules'?
I suppose it 's quite a controversial title which will offend all the pro-Ukrainians in the UK who probably didn't even know where Ukraine was 3 or so months ago.

Moscow Rules feature in a lot spy fiction - it was basically a set of rules for operating covertly in Moscow during the Cold War
I've not read the lyrics but I'm sure that's what it's references & not the more literal interpretation that Moscow is the best

Do you think the average Liam/Oasis fan would be aware of that?
Considering the one side barrage of anti Russian sentiment coming from the media just now, it doesn't take a genius to realise some people could misconstrue it at face value.
I haven't read the lyrics either, maybe someone could put them up if they were interested enough/could be bothered....

I haven't read the lyrics either, maybe someone could put them up if they were interested enough/could be bothered.... Dunno It's pretty common knowledge, and it seems weird that the songwriters/Liam would put the two words together unless it was referencing that phrase More on Moscow Rules... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Moscow_rulesThese are the lyrics which I interpret as about a way of behaving (Moscow Rules) and not a song in praise of Moscow the city The person described in the song is following Moscow Rules and not being true to his heart - or something What do you think?.... [Verse 1] Home again, but in your dreams you creep back to the wire Tell the truth of something close they'll just call you a liar But when it's done, you can't even retire Back on the run, back in the line of fire
[Verse 2] Turn the page, and burn the book the day we said goodbye I walked alone, and looked ahead avoided all the eyes And when it's dead, it doesn't even die Nothing's new, nothing's cool Here again and baby we're both fools [Chorus] Follows me, follows you It's the same Moscow rules, lonely man I think you're never alone, even at home The empty seats across the table Are staring back
[Verse 3] Overcast, can't see the sun, But I can't see the moon Paralyzed by memories of ruined afternoons Get out of bed, and come sing us a tune Nothing's new, nothing's cool Here again and baby we're both fools
[Chorus] Follows me, follows you It's the same Moscow rules, lonely man I think you're never alone, even at home The empty seats across the table Are staring back
[Chorus] Follows me, follows you It's the same Moscow rules, lonely man I think you're never alone, even at home The empty seat across the table Is staring back

Bit of a coincidence don't you think? That Wikipedia page says⊠The rules are referred to in Liam Gallagher's song Moscow Rules from his 2022 album C'mon You Know. Seems pretty cut and dried Especially the lyrics themselves which seem to be clearly referencing the rules But who knows?

Bob Dylan is a feller called Robert Allen Zimmerman aka Shabtai Zisel ben Avraham (at least that's what Wikipedia says, but I always tell people that it is not a definitive source).
Or to quote (or maybe misquote) JCC: 'People often compare me to Bob Dylan. They say things like "Compared to Bob Dylan you're not very good"'

Liam Gallagher: Câmon You Know â review â ALBUM OF THE WEEK!Louder Than War review Câmon You Know, Liam Gallagherâs 3rd solo album is occasionally experimental, takes risks, but builds on his first two cementing his reputation as a stellar solo artist. Iain Key listens for Louder Than War.Following the success and acclaim of Why Me, Why Not? Liam and his team could easily have followed the same blueprint and trod the same boards. Instead, theyâve gone out on a limb with Câmon You Know. Gallagher himself recently said in an interview with The Sunday Times, âItâs a bit peculiar in places, which is good: 80 per cent madness and 20 per cent classic. If youâre going to start doing stuff like that on your third album, it helps if thereâs a bit of Covid about; because if it doesnât take off, and people go, âIâm not sure about this, itâs a bit weird,â we can blame it on the virus and go back to the classic stuffâ. I hope it does take off and people will give it a few listens. It may not be what you want, but it could be what you need.Whole thing is here... louderthanwar.com/liam-gallagher-cmon-you-know-album-review/
