...i picked up a copy of that album secondhand about 10 years after it was released.
It's OK, an enjoyable listen, but not anything like in the same league as Magazine or Luxuria, musically. Dave Formula and Barry Adamson play on quite a few songs... and one of my Punk heroines, duets with Howard on this...

Yes. Great tune that one Andy
I agree it's not Magazine or Luxuria standard but still plenty to enjoy
By way of example, how about the jaunty cabaret shuffle of....

Someone mentioned on Facebook that Howard was 70 the other day.
I didn't realise he was a few years older than Pete Shelley. In fact a few months older than Joe Strummer.

JOHN McGEOCH - THE LIGHT POURS OUT OF ME (Book with slipcase + 7" Single) God knows i am running out of space for all my books!! ...God knows i already have too many records!! But i could not resist this. Magazine were a really important band for me growing up and leaving school. To my great regret, i never got to see them first time round with John on guitar, but did see him twice with Siouxsie & The Banshees and PiL. One of the most inventive guitar players of all time, who could play rhythm and lead guitar all in one song (checkout 'Israel' & 'The Light Pours Out Of Me') π€ππ€

The more you read about Lydon, you realise what a sad sack of shit he is. John McGeoch on the other hand is one of punk's most influential and legendary guitarists. The Edge from U2 has admitted in the past that his 'distinctive guitar sound was 'borrowed' from the man himself as the below intro clearly demonstrates.

I have quite a few to read but I think this one might supercede all themπ
