Just re-reading Daniken's initially ground-breaking (and very controversial) book that was first published in the late '60's. If you've ever got close to the Stonehenge monuments, Great Pyramids, Easter Island sculptures, etc, etc, and thought to yourself, "no fucking way these were ever made by 1,000's of slaves doing the old 'heave-ho' routine, like in Hollywood movies", then this book will confirm your suspicions. The ancient heiroglyphs, polyglyphs, cave-paintings, and early Sumerian scriptures all tell the tale of our real history. A lot of other early (Mayan) texts and very-advanced science has been burned, destroyed, hidden, or just re-written by the Vatican and other repressive religious doctrines in the meantime. Was and still is a real game-changer.

I went to the Avebury Stones in Wiltshire last year. They have been dated pre Stonehenge and one circle is placed in a perfect 360 degrees. Yet your standard history claims that the Greeks and Egyptians invented this system thousands of years later.

My stepfather was big into him in the 70's, I dipped into a couple of his books and concluded that he was a charlatan

I can't say I recall many instances of hip young blades asking the barber for a 'Von Daniken' back in the 70's.
