Running parallel with C86 etc was the Paisley Underground in America which was an influence on the Stone Roses as were the pre makeover Primal Scream.
Bands like the Rain Parade, Dream Syndicate and the Three o Clock. Not heard much by these.

Not Paisley Underground and not indie twee etc . but used to hear Long Ryders Looking for Lewis and Clark a lot in the 80 's

I knew Paris Angels singer as a teenager.
I bought the single on 12". I remember having John Peel on during the England games in Italia 90 and England scoring on two occasions when Perfume was being played. π

The singer makes Bernard Sumner sound like Pavarotti and the drummer can't even keep time .

This thread brings the painful memories flooding back of what a dead loss the mid-late 80's was for bands;
House of Love Mighty Lemon Drops The Wonder Stuff Pop Will Eat Itself The Wedding Present Carter USM
...and they were exciting compared to that 'C86' twaddle. YAWN
