I remember, the first time i saw the ANWL, supporting The Damned, i'd never seen so much Gob in my life... it was a veritable Niagra Falls of phlegm it was ridiculous... it made me realise there was already a generation gap... to me, like The Exploited, they were a cartoon Punk band.
I suppose they predated the whole Biker Punk/Hard Rock thing that Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction made fashionable 3 years later.

I saw then in 82 and would agree with that.
'For You' was a great single however.

...yes, 'For You' is a classic and there are good songs on the first album, too but overall they made me think it was Punk Rock for people that think just swearing alot is big and clever ...and very 'Punk'

...no, not yet ...but i will if it goes online. Sometimes a band's story/history/interviews etc are more interesting to me, than their music.

It's quite predictable and a bit dated to be honest.
They are quite'normal'blokes and aren't as outrageous as they think they are.
Mind you Winston was a bit of wild guy
Mind you what is these days?(being outrageous that is)

Never did much for me but chuckled at So What the first time I heard it
Then there's the tragically humourous reinvention as a Metal group

I didn't know that but, assuming they really did it, then it's a very good reason to dislike them

I think it was mentioned on the old board.
They tried their hand at being a soft rock/new romantic band in order to make money and it flopped.
So the return to the biker thing is a bit phoney now I reckon.
