I've got that Tour de France as a 12" single. I'll have to give it a spin.

Everyone loves Kraftwerk (well maybe not rogue)
I saw them (Ralf + three others) a few years back - a wonderful experience and worth the expensive ticket price
This gives you an idea of what they're like these days...

I thought we already have a Kraftwerk thread on here? ...maybe not?
Autobahn was the first 'proper' album i ever owned, so a precious record. At 13 i was already listening to the sound of the future...

You were always years ahead of your time Andy I think this is our one and only Kraftwerk thread - I couldn't find a second one This 1981 Italian TV clip is a long time favourite... Kraftwerk - Pocket Calculator (Discoring 1981)

I saw them around that time - they were the darlings of the New Romantic posers, who wouldn't dance to their music at the gig incase they 'lost their cool' and their hairdo's drooped. Halfway through the set, Florian Schneider took the piss out of them by posing the question..."i zort zis vaz a dancehall?"

The original 'classic' best known line up of Kraftwerk grew apart, due to their lack of 'Activity' over a 20 year period ...a shame, but Karl Bartos proved he was an important creative element. I really like his solo album, "Off The Record" more than what Kraftwerk were doing at the same time.

...it's interesting to me, that after 1980 Ralf & Florian seemed to disown their early 'Kraut-Rock' recordings, so for the last 40+ year they have only been available on bootleg. Autobahn is where they came to decide, was their starting point.
