Murder 24/7 is on the iPlayer A friend recommended it I watched the first episode last night I thought it was really interesting Murder 24/7 was filmed with the Essex Police and follows real-life investigations into murders and crimes. In the first three episodes, viewers see the investigation into the murder of 36-year-old Courtney Valentine-Brown, who was found stabbed in a flat in Southend-on-Sea. What struck me was how conditioned we have become in books, TV and films to murders being solved by a dedicated detective with a few sidekicks The reality, if this doc is anything to go by, is that there are massive teams investigating murders without one focal point - they are also fairly thorough and very hard working but quite an uninspired and unispiring bunch (might be unfair as I've only seen the first episode) - however diligence and the stupidity of the criminals seems to yield results The interviews with suspects are particularly surprising I can't wait to get back to it tonight
