Beats (2019) dir by Brian Welsh...
....is a really great Scottish rave film. The coming of age plot follows a pair of teenage friends in 1994 Scotland who want to go to an illegal rave against the backdrop of the Criminal Justice Act. Gritty, exciting, credible and engrossing Well worth watching, but be quick - only on iPlayer for another 18 days www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000swf5/beats

Not seen it but was there an organisation called 'Treason in the Park' ever mentioned?

No mention of Treason in the Park
I really do give Beats a massive thumbs up
I convinced about five mates to watch it and all really enjoyed it
Only on iPlayer for another two weeks
Trailer gives a good idea of what to expect but gives nothing away...

It's very good indeed though it copies most youth cult/coming of age movies by juxtaposing a repressed, awkward geek with a wild, spontaneous friend. Done before in Northern Soul, Soul Boy, Gary Oldham's skinhead in Meantime, This Is England etc etc.

Treason in the Park was a political campaign against the Criminal Justice Bill/Act which had a lot of bands and DJ's invited to the old bandstand's in Glasgow's parks.
The idea was just to turn up and play without the Councils permission.
They were very successful.
However,if they were attempted now, the cops would just attack it.
