About forty pages in and though not a literary classic still a riveting read. Hard to believe he was once a tie dyed hippie following the Khatamandu trail.
A honest and engaging read.

Just finished it. Last half doesn't concentrate much on the music, more about the death of his wife and his own illness. Slightly bitter on his departure from the Feelgoods, though reading between the lines it was inevitable, Lemmy is succinct on the incompatibility of speed freaks (Wilko) and boozers (Brillaeux). Has its humour though when he joins Ian Dury and the Blockheads, fights in the hotel, on the bus, on the stage. Topper Headon projectile vomiting from behind his kit, yet not missing a beat. Not a classic by any means but if you like the music, it will be for you.
PS Roxette was a completely made up name by Wilko for the song of the same name. The Swedish band took their name from the tune also.

Very enjoyable and moving read
The section following the death of Irene, the love of his life, killed me
His miraculous escape from a terminal diagnosis of pancreatic cancer is the stuff of Hollywood scripts
What emerges from this book is a passionate, private, intelligent, funny, eloquent and warm human being
