The best way to a good nights sleep is not thinking about the next day or all the other daily drudgery of life as an adult
Part of the trick is definitely not to angst about it and just accept what is happening
Easier said than done
I had a terrible insomnia issue a few years back. I tried everything - in the end this is what I concluded helped me...
1. Sticking to a sleep schedule - go to bed and wake up at the same times 7 days a week
2. Exercising every day
3. Avoiding caffeine and nicotine - esp after middday
4. Avoiding alcohol in the evening
5. Avoiding large meals and beverages late at night - stop eating the earlier the better
6. Relaxing before bed (not screens)
7. Taking a hot bath before bed
8. Dark bedroom, cool bedroom, quiet bedroom, gadget-free bedroom - and/or eye cover to create darkness + ear plugs if you live somewhere noisy
9. Getting the right sunlight (blue light) exposure - get outside for 30 mins each day in the morning
10. If you really can't sleep don't lie in bed awake but get up and do some relaxing activity e.g. reading (nothing on screen) and go back to bed when you feel tired
