I've been mistaken for a 'casual'in the past due to the clothes I wear.
I think this is more by accident than design however as I can't think of a more stupid fashion.
You're respected because of how expensive your clothes are?
Madness.

Personally I never wore anything I didn't like just cos of the label.
I thought it quickly became very boring and I don't like the stuff "casuals" wear now.

Soccer hooligans are just a stupid as their clothes.
Aging old men fighting outside train stations then the cops come along and nick them all.

An 80s take on Modernism but without any clear musical connections and more emphasis on the auld ultraviolence Or that's my somewhat ill informed understanding You can buy all the gear online... www.80scasualclassics.co.uk/

A crap, thuggish scene. The cooler participants baled when they discovered E and got into raving in the late 80's.

A dozen old men kicking the shit out of one bloke outside a train station.
Then running away.
A macho load of shite. Why don't they just get a room if they like touching other men?

I remember going to a Man U v Spurs game in late 82. Spurs casual mob turned up early and took the Scoreboard Paddock which was usually the hooligan area for United fans along with the United Road.
Somehow there was no fighting at all though most were moved to the away fans pen right next to the Scoreboard Paddock. This Spurs casual stood next to me had a Pringle jumper with half a dozen Angelic Upstarts badges on it which surprised me This Spurs mob was unbelievably well dressed many wearing Lacoste jackets and Nike Wimbledon trainers.

I had never heard of 80s casual before. Incredible to think of it as a recognised fashion

Crazy. There were a few ex singers with Scottish hardcore punk bands who went onto be soccer hooligans including the ex AOA singer Murph who I think ran with the Hibs mob.

Amazing photos I lived in Pompey 1984-85 and went to all the PFC home games that season A very hard town. Always fights on the street. The 6.57 crew used to turn up at Emptifish gigs. Carnage ensued
