Saw Fontaines DC last night I'll defo go see Fontaines next time they come to town Did you catch their recent show in your area? Here's a clip from it. Grian is the best frontman around at the the moment and Curley & O'Connell are doing something new and interesting with the guitars

Last show of the year tonight for me. LIFE at the Joiners in Southampton. How much did you enjoy it wardance? I like what I've heard/seen of LIFE Thoroughly enjoyed it. Fifth time seeing LIFE, and they never disappoint. Full of energy, enthusiasm and passion. Brighton last night was sold out. I had tickets for the Hebdon Bridge Trades Club tonight when it was originally scheduled, but work commitments now prevent me from going. They're now on the northern leg of their tour. Next one for me is Rockaway Beach festival at Bognor Regis Butlins.

I've got a few friends going to Rockaway Beach - considering going too. I used to love ATP Festivals at Butlins and Rockaway is doing something similar albeit more low key

I've done it for the past few years and would recommend it. www.rockawaybeach.co.uk/

Can't decide whether to go to Madness at the Arena in the city centre tonight.
Since this Covid stuff started I've begun to absolutely hate going out unless it's to a venue that's in my immediate area.

I've also found it incredibly tough going to drag myself out, but feel that if I don't, the next step is sitting in a chair dribbling. Plus, I can't let this bastard thing win and destroy what I've spent the last 40 years enjoying.

I was out in town on Friday night and noticed the pubs seemed quieter than usual and the gig I was at was about half full. That said, I was also out on Thursday night too, at a local pub, and it was v busy
I'm off to see WH Lung play live on Monday night so will report back on that one
A lot of people are understandably cautious given the initial stats on the transmissability of Omicron
Personally, whilst the transmissability is a concern, I am reassured that the symptoms are generally milder. Of course that's only reassuring if you are not vulnerable or have underlying conditions, and even then you might be unlucky and get a bad reaction....
I'm out most nights this week but quiet next week so hoping, if I do get it, I'll be fit again, and out of isolation, by the Xmas weekend
Good luck all. Tricky times

Expect gigs to get fewer and far between over the next few months, especially in the provinces. Thirty people at a gig I attended last week, pre pandemic would have been full hundred and twenty capacity, promoter took a hit of nearly five hundred quid. He has pulled two future concerts at the same venue. It is completely financially unviable.
A big event we have here next year (it would be unprofessional to name names) is £15k in debt. Promoter needs to sell another 300 tickets to break even. Won't happen, in fact punters with tickets will drop out and be trying to claim refunds.

I'm not scared of the virus I'm just feeling more insular .
I think this has all affected us in psychological ways we can't grasp.
