Never heard that Mercator Projected, the only thing I get in is One of those Dream World Ofs, great fiddle prog if you like that sort of thing. Had a little skim through here. Not my bag but it is suprisingly hard rocking in places

Always thought (the) Stukas was a great name for a band. A bit of a disappointment when I eventually heard them, souped up pub rock.

Great week at the Croydon Greyhound in 1978.... I went out with the Stukas guitarist's younger sister

There was a band in Sydney also called The Stukas. They were a punky rock band. Still playing apparently

This week in 1977 down at The Marquee
Another good week....
I'm guessing that's Rico who later played with The Specials
Interesting that Chelsea and Buzzcocks are that little bit more expensive at 80p
And Edgar Broughton a whopping 90p

Buzzcocks and Wire would have been an interesting pairing. Not the Bond creator obviously but who was Ian Fleming?

I've often wondered about DJ Ian Flemming - and of course DJ Jerry Floyd
One of them was invariably DJing at gigs at the Marquee in the 1970s
Hard to find out anything about them based on my attempts

And who was the Marquee Mystery Band? Come on PU, what are the live recordings from the Marquee from 1977? There is a live Vibrators album, but that didn't come out until 1992 and the date of recording is not listed. There are also Skrewdriver recordings with no date, but it couldn't have been them for a quid when the far better bands were cheaper. Considering that, I reckon it must have been one of the dinosaur bands

No idea, could be the Pistols? I get that Thirty Years of the Legendary Marquee album in the regularly. Bit of a con as it's not live at all and the only punk track is Going Underground. Seems to be a showcase for the Polydor as loads of bands on there are signed to the label or a subsidiary.
I did have a Chelsea Marquee bootleg once, it had Rocking Horse on it, so probably later than 77, awful recording. The official Nine Below Zero, Live At The Marquee is one of the best at capturing the atmosphere.
Was anyone a regular at The Marquee? I only went once, queued along Wardour Street for ages to see The Kursaal Flyers, all a bit meh if I recall.

Regular would be overstating it but I went there about 10 times. Great venue as I recall. Good sight lines, always rammed when I was there and v sweaty and atmospheric. I wouldn't fancy that now but as a 16-18 year old it was fun. Never went after it moved Best gigs I recall there - The Cure, X Ray Spex, The Ruts
