Bloody annoying when I think of the thousands that got thrust into my hands waiting in line to go in somewhere, that you binned later and you see on EBay for a fortune now.

If Billy's right, and I think he probably is, then it was 1978 I went to the PiL gig at The Rainbow on Boxing Day 1978 and I'm sure that Xmas Day and Boxing Day 1978 gigs were the only ones PiL did at The Rainbow In 1978 The Human League were around and gigging so it makes sense. Then again being second on the bill makes slightly less sense -on the other hand none of the bands on the bill was particularly big in 1978

The Friday was my one and only time at Reading. I'd spent Mon - Thurs on a cricket tour in Yorkshire, so wasn't in the best of shape come Friday. I was bored out of my tiny mind with what I saw on the main stage.

Apologies for my pedantry but you wouldn't have seen the Who as they didn't go on till nearly three AM on the Sunday. So I would have gone for the last day and Hendrix.

That's still Saturday night in my book Hendrix is the big one but... Who, Doors, Joni, Sly, and..er..Mungo - c'mon that's a heck of a line up. Admittedly you'd have to watch ELP too Then again Jimi, Pentangle, Donovan, Joan, Jethro... would be good too

Stevie Wonder probably wouldn't have been that captivating, his early stuff is very pedestrian harmonica rhythm and blues. Probably the Spencer Davis Group with a young Steve Winwood, support from Bluesology, an even younger Reg Dwight on the planner.

Found this in shop tidy up. Not quite the Marquee but good times remembered. The GBH gig was incendiary.
