Some great vintage stuff on there. Sony Classics (channel 50 freeview) is also worth a look. British kitchen sink dramas, Hitchcock, Ealing comedies. Next Sunday, the classic coming of age American Graffiti.

Great article about Talking Pictures... www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2020/may/17/inside-talking-pictures-the-ultimate-in-lockdown-comfort-tvWho knew....? There is nothing ostentatious or big-budget about Talking Pictures.
It is run by a family in an ordinary house on an ordinary road in a village near Watford. Their headquarters is an extension in the garden, full of film canisters, DVDs and strings of thank-you cards from loyal fans.
The team comprises Sarah Cronin-Stanley, a vintage TV and film fan and former actor; her husband, Neill, who produces the weekly newsletter and looks after TV regulations compliance; and Sarah’s dad Noel Cronin, a film distributor who began his career six decades ago in the Rank Organisation post-room.

THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH (1976) on Talking Pictures TV. I've seen it about 8 times but not for a good 20 years I hadn't seen it for more than 20 years and quite enjoyed it,made more sense this time around and Bowie was good but the end was rubbish. Still one of a kind.

They ran one of the very first X films I ever saw the other night, The Legend of Hell House with Roddy McDowell and Gayle Hunnicutt. Not aged very well but a trip back in time.

Sid Abbot wants to build an illegal whisky still I tried to watch a bit of this last night and gave up after 10 minutes even though I thought it was funny at the time as a wean. I also remember Sid James dying in 1976 and there was a genuine outpouring of grief for him. However he will always be Tony Hancock's 'dodgy" mate in Hancock's Half Hour to me. Brilliant 👍

Warlords of Atlantis.
With the sadly missed Doug McClure.
I caught a bit of this the other day.
Rubber sea monsters, ropey special effects, shaky acting made on a budget of 80 quid back in 1978.
Doug did a slew of these type of movies back in the mid to late 70's and they were brilliantly cheesy.
These millenials can stick their Tik Tok up their beards👍

There is an episode of “Runaround” with Mike Reid on TP tomorrow morning at 7:40 am
Runaround was hilarious (at least in my memory)
An intimidating cockney on a kids show ordering terrified youngster to "RUNAHHHHRAAAAAHHHHHHHNNNNDDDDD"!

The best ITV kids show was'Murphy's Mob'👍😎 That one passed me by. I think I'm a bit older than you. It was all Magpie and Black Beauty on ITV in my day. Plus The Big Match and The Persuaders on a Sunday afternoon
