Sixties Dylan, both acoustic and electric. Seventies, Blood on the Tracks and Desire. A couple of his religious phase are for die hards only, Saved and Slow Train Coming. Just so much out there but if I had to do a top five, it would be the two seventies mentioned above plus Blonde on Blonde, Highway 61 and Times They Are A Changing.

Yep, I agree. Always had a big soft spot for John Wesley Harding too (but guessing that's in your 60s catch all category)

Blonde on Blonde,Highway61,Freewheeling for me.People have said to me they prefer other artists covering his songs because he can’t sing, but I think his voice is just right for the songs he writes.I don’t want to hear a pitched perfect voice singing Lay Lady Lay thanks.

Street Legal. Not as consistent as his 60’s albums but still some great songs on there.Stand out tracks for me are “Is your love in vain” “We better talk this over” and “Where are you tonight”

So what is your favourite Dylan LP?
Or favourites?
I have a great love for Highway 61 Revisited, and an enduring affection for John Wesley Harding
Bring It All Back Home is pretty special too
And, lest we forget Blonde On Blonde

I bought 'Highway 61' secondhand for 10p back in '78. I think I still have it somewhere. It's an important record for sure, but in general, I enjoy other artists' versions of his songs more than his originals, this one being a particular favourite

Have all the studio and about 50 boots, was quite obsessive for a while, His voice was pretty much shot after the '84 European tour although the never ending tour will no doubt continue after the pandemic and continue to his death. I would probable go for the Blood On The Tracks (the New York Sessions boot is even better and a must have just for the far superior "Idiot Wind"), Desire (the gypsy violin floors me every time) and even the half stunning Street Legal as my favourite period which of course includes "Rolling Thunder" tours. Impossible to pick a best track but how is this for a song Bob didn't even think made the cut for the sloppy "Infidels".
