^^^^I've read Down the Highway , it mentions the little encounter with Sid at a Robert Gordon / Link Wray gig (at the Music Machine I think)

An aside. I've always wondered how writers when approaching Dylan's life and work have Ballad Of A Thin Man playing in the back of their minds. By trying to nail him down and understand his machinations means they've missed the point completely. For all Dylan's longevity, forty studio albums, 125 million sales, acting career, he still remains an enigma.

Lennon out-cools Dylan by a country mile here That film comes up in the book. Bob was v unhappy then. Not enjoying a lengthy tour and didn't really want to be there. The Beatles revered Dylan. He was the one that introduced them to dope. He assumed they were already into it have misheard a lyric.

^^ He heard 'I wanna hold your hand' thought 'I can't hide' was 'I get high'
He's definitely off his tits on something in that clip

Did anyone see Bob's recent new "film" "shadow kingdom"? beautiful to look at in stunning black and white but hiding behind a big mic it seemed pretty obvious to me he was miming it all. Seems oddly ignored by reviewers though. Great versions though if you accept it as a collection of videos rather than a "performance" pitchfork.com/thepitch/bob-dylan-shadow-kingdom-livestream-review/

Will separate the soundtrack out instead.

Interesting. Thanks Doug. Seems that the experience is worth it despite the probable miming?
But such concerns seem beside the point of the very “Twin Peaks”-ish “Shadow Kingdom,” which played to the strengths of its streaming-video format to create an eerie cinematic vibe instead of seeking to duplicate the feeling of being at a concert. (On Instagram, Meek wrote that he’d “made a movie with Bob Dylan.”)
