In this US imported litigation for everything, public liability insurance companies would not take the risk. Drug deaths and accidents through personal negligence are always 'get outtable' by insurance companies but covid transference is a risk that even the most ardent sensible tea totaller festival goer could contract. A waiver would never work or even be allowed legally, enter at your own risk has no validity at a public event. The press would go into hysteria overdrive and if there was an outbreak amongst the crowd, the strain on the NHS would be immense. Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying PU

^^ Could well be the case now. People misconstrue that Eavis farm and the festival are run by the same business. His shithouse dairy will continue unfortunately but the festival is a separate corporate entity and all it's personnel and infrastructure will likely fold as they have just announced 2021 cancelled. The staff cannot be paid and lay offs expected. Some new firm may look at taking it over 2022 but it would be a brave or foolish investor in this present climate.

I think Roy Harper is still alive. Rolan Bolan might be tempted to do a set of his Dad's Tyrannosaurus Rex faves too

I only went to Stonehenge once, either 81 or 82. Loads of bikers going round starting fights with anyone who so much as looked at them. Hardly peace and love. Eavis always has been a c**t, even before Glastonbury.

Eavis always has been a c**t, even before Glastonbury. I went from 1979 onwards. 1980 was heavy. The plastic greasers were uptight about the influx of punx on site but the Hells Angels (27 of them, Windsor Chapter keeping order for about 30,000 festival goers) kept a lid on things. When they left the site on solstice night all hell broke loose. 85 was the worst, obvs, when Thatcher set the pigs on us

Lincoln Drill Hall gets reprieve. After the withdrawing of £180k funding by the council, the iconic venue looked set to close for good. Fortunately, it's been taken over by the Lincoln College Group and it will be used for theatre and music events by both the college and outside promoters.

Ministers fear Britain will have a six-week window to open up in the summer or risk having Covid restrictions in place until spring, the Sunday Telegraph reports. Government advisers have explained there is a "ticking clock" to lift measures before it becomes too late to do so in September because of the greater transmission of Covid in winter and seasonal pressures on the NHS. It comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave his clearest signal yet that he is planning to delay the return to normality by a month.
