To me a great manager is someone who builds a team from scratch on a limited budget or totally transforms an existing team, like Tuchel has done.
Guardiola has never done either.

It's not many fans who would sniff at three league championships I accept that, at Man City, he's at a club that have spent more £££ on players than any other and also run up the largest losses ever. It still needs to be organised. His track record as a manager must be the best in world football... www.transfermarkt.com/pep-guardiola/erfolge/trainer/5672Then again, he couldn't beat Brighton and Hove Albion despite being two up ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I’d have him at Everton for sure.Maybe we’d see how good a manager he is then.

He's got to be the best manager in world football working at the moment - no one else can come close to his trophy haul, and all at the highest level

He's got to be the best manager in world football working at the moment - no one else can come close to his trophy haul, and all at the highest level That’s not the way I see it, it’s very easy to have the most impressive results when you’ve only ever managed the best team in a league or the team with the most resources. He’s not achieved anything that the other City managers before him haven’t achieved, he’s failed to win the UCL several years in a row. It’s telling that the first time a decent team rocks up (Liverpool) they don’t get within spitting distance of the league and get completely smacked up. TL;DR - They don’t call him Fraudiola for nothing!

This is a variation on the "but can he do it on a wet Tuesday night in Stoke" debate.
I'd feel confident he could do it at grass roots level but who knows? It's definitely not a level playing field.
The two teams who have made the biggest losses in world football met in the Champs League final. Those losses funded by the bottomless pockets of insanely wealthy owners. And there's always been a clear and irrefutable correlation between transfer spend and wages and final league positions.

Ye I guess we’ll never know,
I have infinitely more respect for somebody like Mourinho who is a self-made manager as opposed to a former player who got given insane job opportunities based on a playing career. I don’t think anything Pep does will ever match either of Mourinho’s trebles.

Both are probably quite difficult individuals but Jose could take against you for nothing and would throw you under the bus at the drop of a hat It's all me me me MEEEEEEE with Jose Mourinho Plus his tactics are now well and truly outdated as we've seen with his last tenure at Chelsea, plus massive underachievement with Man Utd and Spurs
