Someone I don't like says something that could be seen as race based = vile racist.
Someone I like says something that could be seen as race based = They are just mucking around and have every right to express an opinion and anyway, what do you know.

It's there to see. No matter what drivel you or anyone or even the reviews say or don't say. Obviously, hating the call to prayer and nearly voting BNP because he got slapped by an asian gang makes him a communist!! It says more about you if you think he isn't an islamaphobe. I"ve showed that part of the book to two Asian pals of mine and they agree with me. Still, you kid yourself on, theres a good chap.๐

How do you know he isn't an islamaphobe? Do you know him? Like him? I was actually enjoying his book up to that point๐. So you thinking'nearly voting'BNP is a good thing? Tell me his reasoning behind it? Because he had a run in with an Asian gang on his 'patch'.? Sad hero worship of a self confessed alcoholic.

The call to prayer first thing is very annoying, in the same was as church bells are on a Sunday morning So that's why Wobble hated because it woke him up on a Sunday?๐คฃ When I lived in Cairo the call to Fajr made me aware that morning was coming. The local muezzin had a good technique so it was pleasant to hear. I went straight back to sleep after hearing it.

I live across the road from a mosque and you can barely hear it.
The chapel up the road is busier.
Literate people will read between the lines of Wobbles 'the thorny issue of race' assuming that he that he even 'wrote' the thing as he's not the fizziest can of Irn Bru in the fridge.
He probably dictated his bile to his ghost writer.๐

I heard him being interviewed in Manchester a few years ago (think I have a recording of it somewhere ) and he was saying words to the effect that men have become so weak and unmasculine that it could become a dangerous thing if there is a backlash against that. I can kind of understand where he's coming from there. Perhaps you can view his angle on race in the same manner. That if people act like Islamism isn't happening then the backlash will be ferocious when the 'right' gobshite who's been keeping score finds favour with the masses.

I don't buy that at all Stu.
The BNP's 'Right's for Whites' campaign in the East End was hardly the most articulate campaign.
He comes across in his book as a parochial white man trying to defend his patch from asian youth'who he believes are anti social to white people.(Did he started a campaign against anti social white youth in the East End?)
His book is awash with drunken violence which he admits and seemingly atones for but his racism is no excuse.
Imagine if he had said the same thing about Jewish people?
To equate gang violence with hatred of the audible sounds of a religion is a racist statement and his excuse of trying to find a solution to it through the para fascism of the BNP shows you how accepted his racism has become on here.
As if the BNP's paper sale in Brick Lane ever did anything for community relations in the east end!
His legal hacks must have been all over that chapter as the narrative is so inconsistent. It's as if he's trying to 'counter balance' his racism with rational thought and his bizarre comment about voting for a left wing group instead who he doesn't name and say why he voted for them is just part of this'I'm not racist but....' bile.
All this nonsense about having mixed race children is a complete red herring.
I mean look at Pritti Patel's view's on immigration.
Wardle's own Irish background is massacred in typical gombeen style but you can see it's still lurking there as and when he needs it to point out his working class' credentials'.
His book has a right nasty streak through it and whilst he could have sought redemption at the end all he does is arrogantly whine why he no longer lives in the east end because presumably the racial 'make up' of London's East End'got too much for him'.
Why didn't he stay and fight for 'Right's for Whites' if he fucking believed it so much?

Based on one comment in a book? i don't actually like the man or his music particularly but all your presumptions of guilt or innocence seem to be based on whether you like the person or not. Someone makes a provocative statement about reggae, you give them the benefit of the doubt because they come from a scene you like, someone makes a provocative statement about a call to prayer you immediately brand them as an islamaphobe based on the same level of possibility. How do I know he isn't an Islamaphobe? That's a ridiculous question, how do you prove a "negative"? You have made far more anti English remarks on here than Wobble has ever made about Islam, can you prove you are not an anti-English bigot? You don't need to make personal attacks on anyone with a different viewpoint to you, It's easy on the internet to take one's own opinion as "fact", it isn't, it's just an opinion.

There more evidence to suggest that he is than he isn't and as you point out neither of us have met him The irony is that it comes from himself. It IS an islamophobic statement. Your revisionist and lack of interpretation doesn't make it less so. Imagine if someone said something similar about jewish people? Unless he's retracted that chapter in his book. As for 'I hate Reggae'. You've got to laugh. How can a song which has anti racist lyrics be deemed to be pandering to 'racist' elements within the hardcore scene. What a flimsy corelation. Where is the evidence of this? I think this narrative was concocted by the Moderator in pure desperation. Where have I criticised English people as individuals? Name one instance. Criticising the mentality of some English people for being right wing and racist isn't deliberately inflammatory. It's the truth. I've done so many times regarding the reactionary elements within Scottish and Irish societies on here many times. Ask some of the older posters. You're right about the personal attacks but considering the cabal of personal attacks on me by the right wingers on here, its pissing in the ocean.

JW's Twitter feed is instructive and tells you quite a lot about what sort of person he is... twitter.com/realjahwobbleSo let's get back to the music We all know where each other stands now No one is changing anyone else's mind and we're all old enough to draw our own conclusions No need to keep have the same circular arguments He's out and about in the UK Jan/Feb/March 2022
I've seen JW live loads and can recommend his live show...

Did he retract his islamophobic statements on his Twitter account?
Fine by me, however he should justify this. Maybe, if he apologises we could move on.
As for his music post PiL?
Atrocious, pretentious'World Music' ala Sting.
And that's being kind๐
