It's a good record and a good political pose too.
Theres no way Paul Simonon could get to grips with politics. My front door bell has more political savvy.
The Ramones were awful and were never a punk band. They were the real bandwagon jumpers.

The Pistols defined punk both aesthetically and musically. People like Patti Smith and the Ramones only really were popular after this definition.
If you don't believe me, read the Steve Jones book.

Haha his childish art sales must have been fallow when he did that🤣 Again, after all the major RAR events the Clash played with the exception of Mick Jones at the second RAR festival they all fucked off to their CBS hotel literally seconds after coming off the stage. Same with the Falls Rd after some career boosting street cred posing. Unlike the likes of the TRB and the Ruts who didn't see RAR as a nice career move.

I'm not surprised. I saw them play back in the day and they rocked so hard they must have needed a rest afterwards.

...i'm loving how this has turned into another thread on the merits of The Clash But anyway... back to G.B.H. I don't claim to be a huge fan, don't have alot of their records, but i have seen them live a couple of times and enjoyed it. They have played all over the world, including the remotest parts of South America... big gigs, small gigs, their attitude has always been the same. Very down to earth. This is a fave from the early days...

Aye Zeo invading threads again changing the subject🤣😎🤩 Aye, that first 12" was stunning, they seem like nice enough guys though Ross Lomas' book was a bit of a disappointment.

If you can't dance to this at a punk gig you must be dead🤩

If you can't dance to this at a punk gig you must be dead🤩 Not a song I've ever heard before. It's alright. Plenty of energy. I'd prefer if they slowed down a bit and put a few more hooks in there. Or did something a bit more original with the punk template. It's indisguishable from a lot of other similar songs. A bit too fast to dance to - I prefer a groove to inspire sustained dancefloor action

In fact some of the most influential punk bands have been fast. Even X Ray Spex and the Rezillos have some fast numbers as has Ian Dury👍
