I've never heard Black and White - apart from Nice N Sleazy and Walk On By (which was on the free EP and later CD reissues)
Am I missing much?
Not a massive Stranglers fan but like the classics

Yes I think you are...Sweden, Curfew, Threatened, Do you wanna....actually its a top LP treat yourself. ( And I am not much of a Stranglers fan )

The segue from Do You Wanna into Death and Night and Blood is thrilling.
Toiler on the Sea is one of their most popular songs.

For me, the first three quarters of the album are truly brilliant stuff... kind of runs out a steam and inspiration perhaps, for the last quarter though. But that's enough to make it an essential Stranglers record... and yeah, Toiler On The Sea is fave with the fans

The Stranglers release the long-awaited new album Dark Matters on 10th September 2021. Surviving Stranglers band members, JJ Burnel, Baz Warne and newest member Jim Macaulay completed Dark Matters remotely during lockdowns, making it their first album since 2012. The album features the single 'And If You Should See Dave...', an honest tribute to their much-missed keyboard player Dave Greenfield who tragically passed away a year ago from Covid-19. “A year ago, on May 3rd my great friend and colleague of 45 years, Dave Greenfield, passed away, another victim of the pandemic.” says JJ Burnel. “We had already recorded most of the album with him and during the lockdowns our only wish was to complete it as a fitting tribute to his life and work. I consider this to be one of our finest recordings.” Greenfield himself features on 8 of the 11 tracks, which were made over the course of two years at the band’s studios in the rural idylls of Somerset, and in Southern France, produced by long-time collaborator Louie Nicastro. 1. Water 2. This Song 3. And If You Should See Dave… 4. If Something's Gonna Kill Me (It Might As Well Be Love) 5. No Mans Land 6. The Lines 7. Payday 8. Down 9. The Last Men On The Moon 10. White Stallion 11. Breathe ‘Dave Greenfield – A Tribute' (Exclusive Bonus CD) Tracklisting: 1. Dead Ringer (from from Black & White 2016 UK Tour) 2. Peasant In The Big Shitty (Live from Ruby Anniversary 2014 UK Tour) 3. Walk On By (Live from TSUTAYA O-West, Tokyo, Japan 2019) 4. Do You Wanna? (Live from Black & White 2016 UK Tour) 5. Baroque Bordello (Live from Brixton Academy, Back On The Tracks Tour, London 2019) 6. 4 Horsemen (Live from March On 2015 UK Tour) 7. This Song (Live from Brixton Academy, Back On The Tracks Tour, London 2019) 8. Water (Live from Brixton Academy, Back On The Tracks Tour, London 2019) stranglers.tmstor.es/product/79632?fbclid=IwAR3T-5UU0rAphFXQ_eb4OgM6OGmwu9q1fy2EQz_z3Q4Lvc6qWKth54doJnE

The band isn't really the Stranglers now.
They should just wrap it.

I saw them a few years back and it was a sell out show
Their fans are very loyal and won't care it's only JJ from the original line up
The vocalist has probably been in the group longer than Hugh was now
I don't begrudge fans the opportunity to see a version of their favourite group
At least The Stranglers will have one original member, unlike Dr Feelgood

They are releasing this album as a tribute to Dave and i see nothing wrong in that. As it says in the statement above, he had contributed to most of the songs.
Before Covid arrived they had planned one last tour before splitting up. Baz Warne has now been in the band for over 20 years. They have recorded some great songs with him on lead vocals

Each to their own but they're well past their sell by date in my opinion.
For Dave's sake they should draw a line under it.👌
