What better reason to start the thread for The Cramps than....
THE CRAMPS on THE TUBE, Live in Newcastle, 7th March 1986 "What's Inside A Girl?" / "Hot Pearl Snatch" / "Can Your Pussy Do The Dog?"

i love their early records, when Bryan Gregory and then Kid Congo played guitar. That's when they were at their most creative, with their unique blend of Garage Psyche, Punk, Rockabilly and B-Movie trash, they were ahead of the curve.
Here's a classic song The Cramps taught me...

Yes indeed Gravest Hits / Songs the Lord Taught Us and Psychedelic Jungle are wonderful releases That said I think they maintained a pretty high quality control throughout the 80s I also loved... Smell of Female
A Date With Elvis
Stay SickI'm less familiar with the 90s albums

I didn’t pay much attention to these first time round God knows why.Probably had them down as a run of the mill Psychobilly band but they’re much more than that.

Brilliant live. Saw them supporting the Police at the London Lyceum. 45 minutes of horrorbilly sleaze. Bryan Gregory had six lit cigarettes impaled on the excess strings coming off his guitars machine head. He'd smoke one, take the still lit stub into his mouth and spit projectile it out into the audience. Health and Safety gone mad nowadays tchh.
Their vinyl goes for high prices. Off The Bone with the original 3D glasses is round the hundred quid mark.

I saw them live in Oz as well. Wild show! The Fiend Of Dope Island is a worthwhile later release.

I watched that video from The Tube and was thinking what a great guitarist Ivy is, and surely the most striking looking as well since the time the Duchess used to back Bo Didley

Whilst'Smell of Female' is a good record they must be up there with the Ramones as one of the most overrated band's ever.
After SOM they degenerated into utter dog poo.

^Their recorded (studio) output probably tailed off after "Psychedelic Jungle", tbh. This and the first LP "Songs The Lord Taught Us" are excellent, imo.
SOM was a live testament to the band. And what a fucking great live act they were.
