Time to play a truly “Wild” Card.
In the late 1970s, New York had Blondie… San Francisco had The Nuns… both wrote some perfect Pop Punk. The Nuns alternated between the glamorous Jennifer Miro and Jeff Olener on lead vocals… here is one of Jennifer’s classic songs…

It took 36 years for a second Rezillos album to land in our Orbit. But worth the wait i think...

Bassy raised the question what is a punk band, but said he didn't want to debate it. Good. Then XTC is a punk band and this is an excellent punk pop song:

I always thought the Banshees were a pop-punk group. They seemed to appeal to a larger demographic audience than most of their early punk peers and sold a lot of records in the UK, usually managing to dent the singles charts and get themselves on TOTP on a regular basis. Even with their more experimental stuff. This is a classic:

The Muffs were one of my favourite bands of the 90s. Led by singer and guitarist Kim Shattuck, sadly, another great talent no longer with us. After the band split up, Kim joined The Pixies
As Pop meets Punk goes, this track is just perfect…

From The Girl is really wonderful
The singing reminds me a little of Julia Hatfield
I've never heard of The Muffs but am off to investigate
Off down another rabbit hole - thanks Andy

I have five of their seven albums, plus one comp of singles. The 90s was such a great decade for music.
Here's another gem from the first album...
