I have a few rare items on Discogs and there's some bootleg Depeche Mode that I've just put on ebay. Not sure about putting any more online though, people will be watching their pennies. I can ride this out for a reasonable period.

The Isle of Man is now completely sealing its border. Had the government had the gumption to do this a month ago, we could have kept coronavirus off the island completely, whereas we now have five cases. www.energyfm.net/cms/news_story_620732.html

Hopefully IoM can limit it to the five. After last night's deserted streets, a bit of sun has brought day trippers into Scarborough and Filey, Whitby looks like it does on a bank holiday. A few irresponsible traders encouraging customers on South Bay are now getting it in the neck on social media.

We've got five cases now too. Hopefully no more as borders are closing on Tuesday. All bars, restaurants etc shut from today.
They closed Bondi Beach on the weekend because too many people were gathering there

THIS is one of the most helpful things I've read about the virus It answers a lot of the questions which have been troubling me How you get the virus determines the severity THIS ARTICLE IN THE LANCET supports the assertions in the tweet It also explains why social distancing is so significant and should be strictly observed Why are the Government making this information known? Johnson really is the wrong person to be leading the country in a time of crisis His knockabout style and tendency to go off script - along with the mixed messages - just confuses people

We are now only allowed out once a day for the next three weeks. Makes a lot of sense as many people don't seem to understand what's at stake

It's getting worse where I am, or at least people are thinking it is. At the supermarket there is still no toilet paper (they keep filling the shelves, but it disappears in minutes). No tinned tomatoes or pasta sauce. The pasta and rice section completely empty apart from a few packets of organic pasta and brown rice. The real sign that people are getting more worried, however, was to be found in the huge cool-room that is usually packed with cases of cold beer. When I looked in there yesterday it had been ransacked; only about 10% of normal stock was to be seen and none at all of my own favourite brew. Luckily, I was able to get it at the small independent supermarket just up the road

Sounds grim jsm. That what it was like here about a week ago
Things seem to have calmed down a bit now
Supermarkets recruiting more temporary staff (a friend of mine started yesterday at 6 am)
Dedicated times for the over 65s
Priority for NHS staff etc
Only allowing people to buy a max of three of any item
I went food shopping on Monday mid morning and things seems v calm relative to the previous week with most things back on the shelves

As of 6am tomorrow, they're closing the border here completely: even returning residents won't be allowed to set foot on the island. A friend of mine went to Portugal for a holiday a couple of weeks ago – I've no idea when he was planning to come back, but if he doesn't return today it could be a long time before he sees his home again. The clampdown appears to be turning the tide, at least for the moment: a couple of days ago, we had 23 confirmed cases out of 300 tests and today we have 25 out of 500. The rate of increase seems to be slowing in the UK and Italy as well. www.iomtoday.co.im/article.cfm?id=54763&headline=Quayle%20announces%20full%20border%20lockdown§ionIs=news&searchyear=2020&cat=Health

Things are getting back to normal in Winchester, although my elderly neighbours who I shop for had to settle for mandarins without the leaves attached as these had sold out in Waitrose *cue violins*

We've got five new cases overnight; all recent returns from overseas. There is also some comedy; a doctor interviewed on radio this morning was telling how her colleagues are sharing tips on how to cope with the lack of protective masks and other equipment. One idea was wearing welding masks when meeting with patients. The best, though, was the story about the doctor who is greeting his patients wearing a diving mask and snorkel.

Boris Johnson tests positive for Coronavirus - there's going to be a vacuum of leadership now (insert own gag here)

Upside. Finally getting round to the mundane chores. Went through some odd and ends that my ex wife sent me just after the divorce. There, at the bottom of the box was my old 30gb ipod. Charged it up and there's about fifty albums on there, stuff I'd long since forgotten about: Robyn Hitchcock, Oysterband, Steve Earle, Weddos and some obscure punk compilations. Off for my daily walk along the beach with a great soundtrack.
