There's no denying their significance, but I never really 'got' them, thought they sounded a bit bland. I was more of a Happy Mondays guy back in those days  |

Loved everything they did apart from a few tracks on Second Coming.
This, from 2016, is among my favourites.

I saw them just after their first album came out and I was astonished how good they were live.

It was a place called Rooftops.
To be honest I wasn't a fan at all and I went along with a pal who was a Sub Club regular as it wasn't really my type if music.
However, at that point the punk scene was really starting to bore me with its heavy metal theatrics and this gig was a breathe of fresh air.
Great night.

You’re probably one of the only ones who liked it. I like it too I think I mixed this track up with the other single they released round about the same then with the similar cover art as this sounds nothing like I remember. |

I thought the whole 'Madchester' thing was really quite pathetic...
if i saw one more baggy, bead wearing, mop topped collection of chancers posing in the middle of a field of flowers... i would have reached for a shot gun
But there's no denying the greatness of that first Roses album and Fools Gold ...the Inspiral Carpets got good after a bit too
