Some bands need two guitars and the Professionals are definitely crying out for it.
The sound of the Pistols was heavy but the Professionals were even heavier.
Also, an edge to the lyrics. I love Paul Cook but the current Professionals lyrics just aren't embittered enough for an auld cynic like me.
Mrs Roguepunk will also be in attendance for this as by and large she thinks that punk music is just for 'silly old men who should grow up'.
Mind you she likes Silly Thing and Just Another Dream.👍

Just seen them. They have two guitarists.
One of the new songs is about Cookie taking Steve Jones's mum's ashes to California.

...i saw them in Bristol last night. Excellent! cracking set of new songs from 'SNAFU', plus tracks from their wonderful comeback album 'What In The World' ...and a couple of golden oldies. Tom Spencer is very funny, amiable charismatic frontman, whose really put his stamp on the bands sound. I will have to wait till next year to get my hands on the vinyl of 'SNAFU', will be worth the wait though as the packaging and extra goodies are fabulous!

That's great to hear Andy I agree that What In The World is very fine - and much better than I was expecting Yet to hear SNAFU

A promoter I know looked at putting on this double bill but the Rezillos fee, accomodation and hospitality rider were ridiculous in both substance and cost. Tickets prices range from £25 to £35 depending on the venue, fair enough I suppose but the behind the scenes costs mean that the same venues will have to be completely sold out (which I doubt will happen) or some people are going to get their fingers burned.

...That's a pity PU, as The Rezillos and The Professionals playing together on the same night would be ACE. But i do appreciate, from a promoters point of view, it's a hell of a financlal gamble, if it's not a sell out night.

It's a great double bill no doubt. Sometimes I wish I wasn't privy to behind the scenes gossip, it clouds me liking the actual music occasionally.

If both bands played Glasgow, I reckon they'd get 300 people there depending on the venue.
The last time I saw Penetration a few years ago they were lucky if there was 100 people there.
