B side of GLC and perhaps even a better tune?
Initially signing to Illegal Records, their first charting single was 'Screwed Up/Insane Society'. However, their second single 'GLC' was much more controversial. It was a superb rant against the then Tory-run Greater London Council which tried to ban punk gigs in the capital. It was hard hitting with it's take no prisoners 'you're full of shit' lyrics and was promptly banned my many radio stations.

Fast forward some 25 years and they wrote this. One of the best songs about Punks growing old.

Great band... one of the first new wave acts I saw live. Nothing says 'check my strides' like the cover of this classic

Loved Menace.
Had most of their singles; Screwed Up, GLC, I Need Nothing, Last Year's Youth..
Damn shame I never got to see them live.

Damn shame I never got to see them live. One of the first punk groups I saw live I can't remember much about it, except talking to Noel at the end who was very friendly

^Don't think that Menace actually played Oop North much, tbh. Don't recall that any of my circle of new wave acquaintances ever saw them play live either..?

^^ Don't think they ever made it up to the Midlands either. Used to scour the NME gig guide back in the day but the likes of The Wasps, Doll, Zeroes and other Beggars Banquet/Small Wonder artists didn't seem to venture far.

Can’t believe they didn’t make an album in the early days even though they were active from 1976-79.It wasn’t until they re grouped in the late 90’s that they started knocking them out.
