Arrived today and I'm very impressed after just one play. Smith's voice (unlike many of his generation) has barely aged. It seems that most tracks begin with long musical intros before getting to the actual melody and vocal, exemplified by the ten and a half minute closer End Song. Dark and brooding throughout, there's no Friday I'm In Love on here. Standouts so far opener Alone and Drone No Drone. End Song as mentioned, heavy sweeping Goth power ballad. Will give it more plays over the weekend. thmubs up here as well Much better than I was expecting . |
