Mutants - Boss Man [Liverpool, 1977]
More old-style rock than punk, perhaps, but the band is reported to have had a far greater I-couldn't-give-a-shit-what-you-think attitude than many of their spikier cousins. Read more about them here: www.punk77.co.uk/groups/mutants.htm

The Voice of the Puppets [Newcastle, 1980]
A great double-header, clearly influenced by The Buzzcocks and The Ramones.
Unfortunately, the a-side 'I Don't Wanna Know' is no longer up on youtube. Here's the b-side, 'You're All I Wanted And A Car'
I own copies of the original releases of The Dunneau and The Mutants, but I think this one is bit rarer; 250 copies pressed. I've got the 2010 re-release.

Are there any Nuggets type comps that cover obscure punk?

Yes Nigey, i think we discussed this on the old Talkpunk - it was the Bootleggers that back in the late 80s/early 90s that first started compiling rare punk. They proved so popular that some bands included in these comps, actually reformed due to the interest in their music.
The First were called Killed By Death - i have about 6 of those. Since then there have been: Back To Front, Raw & Rare British Punk, Bored Teenagers and the Bloodstains Across series across the globe.

Because Killed By Death were the first to compile rare punk obscurities, that title has now passed into the vernacular with serious Punk vinyl fanatics, So 'Killed By...' gets used by many different bootleggers... including people in know

I have a ton of singles by bands who made one record and then they were gone. I have been going through them, converting the vinyl to compile on itunes and CDR
Here's a prime example - this is a B-SIDE that's better than some A-SIDES by better known bands...

Both sides pretty damn great to my ears Funny enough, The lead singer's wife was on the radio, pop quiz on radio 2 or such like ? and she mentioned that her husband had been in a band and released 1 single many years ago and she would love to hear it on national radio...and the DJ did just that...which was nice.
