As far as i can see this band of Exeter University students just had the one E.P. out.Pity because i'd have liked to hear more. One of those tunes that grows on you the longer it goes on.

I have always loved that song...I had it on a tape, after all these years found out a bit more about it.
Pete Fender
I was the composer and producer for this track, which was recorded on a warm summer day in London in 1984. Neil Mouat (the poet) played drums on the track; the rest of it was done by myself on the Roland Juno 6 that belonged to my girlfriend at the time, Poison Girls’ keyboardist Cynth Ethics. Neil’s poem was so sad and evocative, it really felt like no effort at all to translate it into chords and parts, and for me this track remains one of my favourite uncredited projects, done purely for the love of the man and our friendship.
Thanks for all the warm and appreciative comments.

^^^ I have the double CDr Thank You and Goodnight, disc 1 studio, disc 2 live. The first disc has several goodies on, b side of above For Adolfs Only, Ain't No Surf In Portebello, Linda Vindaloo and my fave below. There is a clever vein of humour throughout their catalogue. Very short career, anyone ever see them live ?

I haven't seen them... but they did reform in 2013, played a one off gig and released an album of odds and ends.
Their third single was Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy, too...

Sadly The Valves live passed me by too - might catch a reformation if they do another one

∆∆ So glad I'd never heard that before. Damon Albarn goes back in time to meet Chas and Dave and try their hand at New Wave with spectacularly awful outcome.
